The Water's Up, the Sun's Shining,
and the Snow's Melting into Fun!

Sparkling blue water & clear blue skies as far as you can see:
February 2011 on Lake Mead

The water's up in your lakes, especially Lake Mead, where they've already seen a thirteen foot rise from recent lows and are still expecting at least fifteen more before the summer season kicks in.

"Everything looks so clean since we had that big October storm."

The rise at Lake Mead is mainly attributed to recent snow melt and releases from upstream. (So, there's a silver lining to so much snow this year after all.)

"Water cures all ills," as the locals like to say, and they're ready to welcome you for a great season on America's largest man made lake.

Those hundreds of miles of shoreline, and more than enough sparkling fun to get out and play on, are calling too.

It's one great lake with two fun marinas. Go ahead, check out the houseboat marinas on both sides of the lake:

Temple Bar Marina

On the Arizona Side of Lake Mead,
on the "quieter side."

Callville Bay Marina

On the Nevada side of Lake Mead,
close to Las Vegas.

›› Visit Callville Bay Marina

Join in the fun this month!

February is full of fun opportunities in and out of the water.
Check out these two fun events coming soon:

The Callville Classic
February 25-27, 2011

If you're in the Las Vegas area next week, why not take the short drive down to Callville Bay and check out one of the most popular racing events in the southwest.

This will be the third year of the Callville Bay Classic which keeps getting bigger every year. Watch the race "launch" from the water's edge at the foot of a Forever Houseboat and cheer on the racers who will head out to circle a good section of the lake.

Many of the competitors will be staying on Forever Houseboats docked at the marina and the place promises to be hoppin' for the whole weekend!

The Polar Bear Plunge
February 26, 2011

If you're still in the mood for a little winter, join in the fun at Lake of the Ozarks Marina in Missouri for the fourth year of the Polar Bear Plunge. Jump in with hundreds of crazy, costumed revelers who will take the plunge to raise money for the Missouri Special Olympics.

If you're really into the freezing plunge concept, join the Super Plunge with a much smaller group that will take the "plunge" into the freezing waters every hour for 24 hours. (brrrrr)

Don't worry about them too much, however, Forever Resorts has provided two houseboats to relax in between plunges. (warm showers, towels, a full kitchen, beds, large TV's ~ is that fair?)

What a view!

"The beauty of the water and our time together was priceless."

Time on the water with friends and family is an ageless tradition that knows no boundries.

It is a time to nourish the bonds of friendship and cherish age old relationships.

It is a time to rejuvinate and enliven your spirit.

It can be a wonderful time to look outward at nature and also to look inward at what things are really important to you: families, friends, and life experiences.

And then there is the pure fun of it all, whether you're making sandwiches inside or posing for a fun group picture on the top deck.

The memories you and your crew make together when you are out on the water will last a lifetime. Discover a new aspect of yourself.

Happy Houseboating!
